This is stunning time lapse footage of the Northern Lights, composed of shots captured over one week in Norway near the Russian boarder. Lately it has been one of the best times to see the Northern Lights in all their dazzling glory. Shot with a Canon 5D @ 30fps, mounted to a motion control dolly, compiled from nearly 22,000 images.
Not sure how I missed this when it was released last week (or the week before). But this is a hilarious trailer for a parody of the Call Of Duty games. This is footage of an actual demo that they makers of Bulletstorm had developed (still waiting for a demo for Bulletstorm). You can download and play the 800 M demo or just watch someone else play it in this trailer.
The new trailer for Dead Island is very well done, will the game be nearly as good?
It is a new twist on the crowded zombie survival genre, as its a story based open-world that can be played solo, or anytime-join co-op (up to four players). The game is melee based, with role-playing elements; leveling and skill tree. So in the remote tourist island setting you will have to make use of the resources around you as there is few weapons and reportedly less ammo. The game is scheduled for release this year on PC, X-Box 360, and PlayStation 3.
Here is the latest trailer for the single player campaign for Crysis 2. It’s the typical your the last of the best of the best and you have some major ass-kicking to do to save the world. It appears to show some game footage but not nearly as much as we see in the prior trailers for the mulitplayer.
The mulitplayer demo for the PC will be out on March 1, as the console demo was released earlier this year. The game is scheduled for release on March 22 on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PCs.
L.A. Noire is Rockstars latest open-world game, it’s a crime based drama set during the golden age of Hollywood. It is based around real-world crimes, all set in a recreated Los Angeles.
The trailer looks amazing with great cinematic visuals and the topper is the motion scan technique they developed for this game, which uses 32 cameras for facial recognition. It all should work to make an immersive world where the characters will give small tells when being questioned, which gives the protagonist new tools for solving crimes. And if they game-play is what we normally get from Rockstar, there will be lots of hours lost in old LA.
The game has a scheduled release in May 2011, on both X-Box 360 and Play Station 3.
Well Electronic Arts has announced some details for Battlefield 3. Looks like they are going to show some PC love with this release as it will support 64 players! Battlefield 3 is suppose to be the successor to Battlefield 2, but with the addition of jets and the return of prone, I’m hoping for a return to Desert Combat style of play.
The game will have a full single player and co-op campaign and of course the previously mention 32 on 32 multiplayer (PC) all running on the new Frostbite 2 game engine, with a few tweaks added from other EA game engines.
They have also announced that preorders will start this month, with a release date this fall…
More details will be coming during the GDC and hopefully a “real” trailer with game footage will be released instead of this stylized teaser.
This is a video that I shot of the sunset at Santa Monica Beach, just south of the pier, looking towards Malibu. This is my first attempt at making a video with time-lapse. The song is “Sun Good,” by The Almighty Grind.
This guy in Russia has a interesting way to deal with traffic on a busy day in Moscow. He is a very adept rider, its only chance that someones moment of inattention doesn’t lay him out on the roadway. Third gear wheelies into oncoming traffic is pretty sick thou, and that’s not even as crazy as the splitting the center line.
